Overview

Rubik’s Workshop is a local 3×3 cube learning app built around doing, noticing and trying again. Its playable 3D cube lets someone explore turns and camera angles before entering a lesson. The course map has 12 modules that move from recognizing pieces and basic moves toward solving independently.

Learn by interacting

Lessons ask the learner to predict an outcome, inspect the actual cube, make a move and explain what changed. Worked examples, such as inserting a middle-layer edge or orienting a yellow corner, connect each instruction to the current position. A teaching view can change the camera without turning the puzzle.

Guidance when it helps

A guided solve starts from a legal scramble and plans beginner-friendly stages from the cube in front of the learner. Turns can be made by dragging stickers, using labeled face buttons or pressing keyboard shortcuts. If a different valid route completes a stage, the app accepts it; after an unexpected move, the learner can continue from the new position. Independent solve offers a separate attempt with a journal for stage choices and reflections, while optional assistance is recorded honestly.

Keep experimenting

Undo, checkpoints and practice cases make it easy to test an idea without losing a place. The app saves lessons, moves, views and preferences in the browser. A versioned JSON backup can be exported and restored on another browser profile or machine. Core use runs on a local Windows server without an account or external network connection.
